Vacancy for Parish Clerk & Responsible Financial Officer

St Mary Bourne Parish Council are seeking to appoint a Parish Clerk to manage the council’s statutory requirements as its Proper Office, to take on the role of Responsible Financial Officer and to promote the interests and development of the parish and its parishioners.

The role is for 78 hours a month, including a requirement to attend evening meetings twice a month to clerk council and committee meetings.  Currently most hours are carried out within the parish office, but there is scope to work from home, if preferred.

The successful candidate will be organised with strong attention to detail, an excellent communicator and able to work independently.  They will have strong IT skills and a proven track record in financial management.  Ideally, they will be CiLCA qualified, but if not, they will be willing to work towards the qualification.

Salary will be subject to experience.  Pension scheme and home allowance included, if required.
