Play Areas

The parish council owns two play areas in St Mary Bourne and Stoke. Both of these play areas are for use by children under the age of 12.

The Recreation Ground Working Group completed a project to replace and relocate the Play Area in St Mary Bourne in late 2025/early 2026.  The project team were successful in replacing and relocating the play equipment, resurfacing the MUGA with a proper sports surface, and extended and marked the car park area. Approximately £130,000 was spent during the three phases of the project.

The fundraising for the project was supported by Greenham Trust with match-funding, grants from The National Lottery, Sports England, Hampshire County Council, Basingstoke & Deane Borough Councillors for our ward, Southern Water and donations from the very generous of our community.  Thank you to all of you.

Thank you also to our suppliers for the project:  Infinity Playgrounds Ltd, RMH Building Services, Authorn Ltd, Clearway Sport, Net World Sports, OMG Trading Ltd, Jolly Gardeners Ltd, Nick Culhane Highway Consultant, & Daniel Ahern Ecology.
