Proposals for new signage in the parish

A drive around the parish

  • Do you notice all the signs on the roads?
  • Does the signage draw attention to obstacles, narrowing of the road, speed restrictions etc?
  • Could entrances to villages and hamlets be more effective in making drivers and bikers aware of oncoming settlements?
  • Is there enough or too much ‘street furniture’?
  • Would Speed Indicator Devices be an effective way of slowing traffic and if yes where should they be located?

Under new community funded initiatives set up by Hampshire County Council the Parish Council has put together a proposal for revisions to signage and the addition of speed indication devices to help improve the use of the roads for ALL users.  There is a sting in the tail, however, any such work will be funded from Parish Council funds, so the PC will have to make final decisions taking cost into account.

Help us to get the proposal as good as possible.  Click on the picture below to see the proposalsWe need to know if we have got it about right, a balance between making road users aware of hazards, but not over cluttering the verges or making the roads look urbanised.  And what have we missed?  All comments please to the Parish Clerk, This email address is being protected from spambots.
